Since I first got my Panasonic high definition tv, the foremost thing on my head was how long do I have to wait to get sky HD established. I’d already seen hd films via my apple tv and was really taken, but I could not continue paying for hired films. What I genuinely desired is sky, I wanted all the movies and I wanted football in high-definition. I had read many sky hd reviews that I had to just order the dam thing.
How did I order sky HD
Well I went online and signed up, it took about ten mins and was pretty painless, most of my time was spent blending up the packs, adding and removing – did I actually require sky arts. I opted for the sky high-def package, the HD pack and the film bundle. It was quite costly I would now find myself paying just under sixty pounds per month but would have everything I wanted in hd. It took a couple of weeks to get the whole thing installed, I live in flats and already have a shared dish, so the sky set up was just some lad giving me the sky hd box, and installing it. I could have done this myself, but it was this chaps problem. It took him about five mins, afterwards which he gave me a quick summing up on the features. I just wanted him to get out so I could play with my new toy.
How good is the high definition picture
The high definition picture quality is in a word astounding. The best way I can describe it? well, I wear glasses the images on a regular telly is like seeing without my specs, blurred, lack of detail etc. When you experience a high-def image is like wearing the specs so much more detail, sharp you start to see things that you would never see on the old picture. I found myself thinking what would the matrix look like in high-definition, before I knew it I was watching all my favourite films again in high definition.
Other benefits of sky high-definition
Well the other major benefit from my point of view is the sound quality. Sky pumps out dolby digital 5.1 surround sound. So, like me, if you have a 5.1 system, I have a sony, can’t recollect the model but it cost a lot, then the sound is brilliant.
The remote record feature is also a enormous feature. It basically allows you to visit the sky website, view the tv schedule, and record. So if you are at work you can browse the schedule and record at your lesiure, when you get home everything will be sitting inside your sky HD box ready to view.
Free broadband – I was a little unsure about the free broadband. I was with bt, and they had the worst service. I was lucky if I got 1mb download speed, despite many telephone calls they never solved it. When you call bt youre calls are sent to india, where despite their best efforts the staff are just reading from a script. I could never understand what they were saying and got really disappointed. So thanks to bt, I decided to opt for the sky broadband and try and save a bit of cash, I was paying bt twenty pounds for the joy of their poor service.
I got the sky hd box working first, and finally got the free broadband a couple of weeks later, as bt were slow in making things happen their end. I was fearing trying the internet as I thought it would be slower than bt. To my surprise the connection was a full 2mb, I know this is not the fastest but for me I was jumping with joy.
